Mvelopes and Budgeting

I am bad at budgeting both time and money and looked into learning new ways to improve. I came across a website called Mvelopes that I will be signing up to shortly. It is a website that helps you with your budget and also has reading material for you learn more about budgets and the problems in the household that messes with your budget.
For instance did you know that most households spend 10% more money than they make? I didn’t know that but I realize that is definitely my household. That is just one of the budgeting issues. You can also use the tools that they provide, pay bills online and keep track of your net worth.

I actually tried their trial account. It’s a great idea albeit a little expensive. The concept of allocating every dime is spot on. My wife and I tried it and liked it but it didn’t quite fit the way we manage our finances. If you’re flexible with your financial system and are willing to change it to fit this paradigm, it’s a great system. If only we could have customized it a little bit more, it would have been the perfect fit. I wish there were more services like this out there.
